August Festivals Full of Culture, Food & Tradition

August is a month for celebrating culture across the Southwest, and this month’s festival calendar shows just how many forms that can take. From Indigenous art and Japanese traditions to Western heritage, regional food, live music and community arts, festivals across the region are putting local culture front and center. Here are some of the events worth adding to your travels.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Sawdust Art Festival | Through Sept. 6 | Laguna Beach

Taiwan Festival | Aug. 22 | San Diego

“TAP-SD’s 3rd annual Taiwan Festival will be on August 22, 2026 from 1-5 p.m. at NTC Park (Liberty Station)!
