Corgis Taking Over the Track at Marymoor Park

Corgis will share the track with cyclists at Marymoor Park on Aug. 28 as part of Barks, Bikes + Brews: Dog Days of Summer, an evening of racing for both two-legged and four-legged competitors. Powered by the OneRedmond Foundation, the event runs from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at the Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome, where cyclists will reach speeds of more than 40 miles per hour during the Friday Night Track Racing Series. The Fast + The Furriest Corgi Races takes the track from 7:30-7:45 p.m., followed by kids’ race. Off the track, visitors can find dog-focused vendors, food trucks, a beer garden featuring Postdoc Brewing Redmond and Winsome Ciderworks, live music, photo opportunities, and a dog costume contest. Attendees can bring their dogs for the evening and take part in on-site dog training and behavioral psychology classes. The event is free to attend, with a $5 donation suggested. 2 Nights of Live Music at Bake’s Place

Bellevue’s Bake’s Place has two different sounds taking over the stage this weekend. Beginning on Friday, Mattlock & The Keys will bring their pacific reggae rock to the patio from 8-9:30 p.m. Then, on Saturday, The Fabulous Orchids will turn the clock back with their take on the girl groups of the 1960s, along with other hits from the ’60s and ’70s. The Seattle group, which has been performing since 1998, features three lead vocalists backed by a five-piece band. The show starts at 8 p.m. Friday’s music charge is $25 per person, while Saturday is $35. Both nights also have a $30 food-and-beverage minimum. Find out more here.

Watch Art Come to Life at Fresh Paint

More than 100 artists are turning downtown Everett into an outdoor gallery Aug. 15-16 as part of the Schack Art Center’s Fresh Paint Festival. Rather than only seeing the finished product, visitors can watch the work being created, learn about the process, and purchase pieces directly from the people who made them. The free festival also includes live glass-blowing demonstrations, hands-on art activities, live entertainment, food trucks, and plenty for kids to do. Fresh Paint takes place along Hoyt Avenue near Schack Art Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Learn more here.
