Local restaurant chain Duke’s Seafood recently kicked off a chowder fundraiser initiative to directly support Washingtonians impacted by this year’s wildfires.
According to Fox13 Seattle, the widely covered Spokane Complex fires are, as of Aug. 13, 97% contained, but cleanup will continue in the coming weeks. Across the state, other fires are continuing to burn, including the Kaiser Canyon Fire in Nespelem and Little Giant Fire near Leavenworth.
To support those affected, two dollars from any sale of either a small or large bowl of chowder at Duke’s Seafood will be added to a fund arranged by the American Red Cross. The initiative will be available during lunch, happy hour, and dinner. The fundraiser will run at all six Duke’s Seafood restaurants — Bellevue, Green Lake, Kent, South Lake Union, Southcenter, and Tacoma — through the end of the month.
