Three crashes on southbound I-405 cause hour of delays from Bellevue to Renton

Three crashes occurred within approximately seven miles of each other on southbound I-405 Wednesday morning, from downtown Bellevue to north Renton.
“We are seeing significant delays with multiple incidents on southbound 405,” the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) wrote.
All southbound I-405 lanes are clear after one of the collisions blocked two of the three lanes at N.E. 44th Street in Renton during commuting hours.

The second collision, which occurred at Coal Creek Parkway in Bellevue, is now also clear, as of 9:08 a.m.

The third crash, which happened near the off-ramp to N.E. 6th Street in Bellevue, remains blocked.
“Backups extend across the entire corridor, from SR 527 to SR 167,” WSDOT wrote. “Continue to expect delays.”
In total, this led to an hour of delays on the road from Lynnwood to Renton.
