Qualtrics laying off 117 Seattle employees following $6.75B Press Ganey acquisition

Seattle-based software company Qualtrics is laying off 117 employees, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing on Wednesday.
The workers were notified Aug. 19 and are scheduled to leave the company Oct. 18.
“This action is not a result of, and will not result in, the relocation or contracting out of Qualtrics’ operations or any affected employees’ positions,” the company stated.
Qualtrics, an American experience management company, said the cuts are part of a restructuring following its $6.75 billion acquisition of Press Ganey Forsta in May.
“Bringing the two companies together meant making hard decisions about what the organization needed to operate and function as a single, uniform team,” Qualtrics said in a prepared statement.
The jobs cut range from engineers to product managers to senior analysts to leadership roles.
Qualtrics, founded in 2002, is co-headquartered in Seattle and Provo, Utah. Its Seattle office is at 1201 Second Avenue in downtown Seattle.
In 2023, Qualtrics laid off approximately 14% of the company’s staff. According to The Seattle Times, Seattle-area tech employers have laid off a combined 10,000 employees since last year.
