A newly filed notice details 95 Amazon layoffs in Washington that are part of previously announced job cuts, according to a company spokesperson.

The cuts will affect employees in Sumner, Bellevue, Seattle, Redmond, and Pasco, as well as remote workers.

Separation dates for those roles begin on Dec. 7, 2026, and run through Jan. 25, 2027, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice submitted on Nov. 2.

The notice said affected employees received at least 90 days’ notice before separation. The WARN letter also noted the layoffs are expected to be permanent.

An Amazon spokesperson clarified to MyNorthwest that the layoffs are part of previously announced cuts, not a new round of job reductions.

Reuters reported that Amazon eliminated fewer than 1,000 white-collar jobs, primarily in its Stores unit, which oversees its main e-commerce website. Employees in the United States, India and the United Kingdom were affected.

“We’ve adjusted parts of our Stores business because we believe this structure will better enable us to deliver on our priorities,” an Amazon spokesperson told Reuters in October.

Amazon cuts include software developers, product managers

The WARN notice lists impacted roles including vice president of product management, director of supply chain management, director of software development, account representatives, strategists, scientists, researchers, and associates.

Operations, program, risk, and product managers, software development engineers, data engineers, and training specialists will also be affected.

Seasonal hiring at Amazon

Separately, Amazon announced roughly 300,000 seasonal, part-time, and full-time openings across its U.S. operations.

Amazon said seasonal employees working at least 30 hours per week will be eligible for health care coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2027. Plans start at $5 per week with $5 copays.

The hiring push follows Amazon’s September announcement of more than $1.5 billion in additional pay for U.S. operations employees. Jobs will be posted weekly through December.
