Seattle Mayor: Latest shooting is ‘reminder of how much work we have left to do’

Nov 9, 2016, 10:40 PM | Updated: 10:42 pm

Five people were shot in downtown Seattle near Third Avenue and Pine Street Wednesday night after an argument near a convenience store.

Seattle Mayor Murray released the following statement:

“Today, two shootings occurred in Seattle, including one with five victims Downtown. Thankfully, all of the victims are alive and receiving treatment.

“Seattle Police do not currently believe the shootings are linked, nor do they believe there is any tie to tonight’s march.

“However, gun violence remains an epidemic in our country that we must work to address in any way we can. Today’s shootings are a reminder of how much work we have left to do.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the victims tonight.”
