With so much rain in the forecast, the National Weather Service is issuing warnings about the threat of landslides across the Puget Sound and has issued a flood watch.

NWS reports that periods of moderate to heavy rain over the next three days will push the White River, near R Street, above the flood stage. Minor river flooding is likely to occur upstream of the A-Street Bridge in Auburn and in Pacific near Government Canal and Butte Avenue, as well as high water along the temporary flood protection barriers, NWS says. The level corresponds to the King County Flood Phase 2.

NWS said the landslide threat “will increase especially from about Everett southward later in the week.”

Forecasters say periods of heavy rain are expected over the next several days, adding one to three inches of rain in the lowlands from Clallam and Snohomish counties southward.

The greatest threat for landslide is expected on Wednesday into Thursday.
