On February 28, SIFF Cinema Uptown will turn its big beautiful screen over to the incredible talents of the music video maker for the 3rd annual Sync Music Video Festival. The event -presented by Artist Home, The Recording Academy, Seattle Weekly, and SIFF— will bring the music and film community together in order to celebrate an often-overlooked art form with a collection of jury-selected music videos that have been released in the past year and deserve a wider audience.

As it has for the past two years, Sync will feature a Mixtape of works from the Northwest and beyond, as well as the collected works of three Featured Directors (Leeni Ramadan, Ransom & Reason, Tristan Seniuk). One of those directors will be awarded the Sync Grand Jury Award, a prize that includes the net proceeds from Sync ticket sales to be put toward a future video project.

This year Sync has added even more to its programming. The festival will train an Artist Spotlight on Shabazz Palaces and give the videos produced in conjunction with the group’s latest full-length, Lese Majesty, the big screen treatment they deserve. Also, in keeping with Sync’s mission to foster new talent, the Recording Academy will be hosting a FREE panel discussion for video makers and artists at the SIFF Film Center prior to the event at 7 p.m.
