Who recorded the secret Mitt Romney video?

With all of the attention surrounding the secretly recorded Mitt Romney 47 percent video, the big question remains: Who did it?

After watching all 49 minutes of the video, KIRO’s Dave Ross says it had to be “the help.”

Ross says the angle and placement of the camera at the private fundraiser indicate it was near where drinks were being served. It is clearly set on a granite counter top or bar surrounded by glasses.

“You can see that it was taken from a spot on a buffet table and you see it being placed in a position and set up and turned on,” Ross says.

The recording runs well after Romney is done speaking, indicating it had to be someone working in the room at the wealthy hedge fund manager’s home.

Jimmy Carter’s grandson James Carter IV is credited with finding the video on the Internet, but he wasn’t in the room. Neither was the editor of Mother Jones, which posted the entire video. So that leaves only the people in the room. And considering guests at the $50,000 a person fund raiser were instructed not to talk to the press about what was said, that leaves the help, according to Ross.

“It’s still running when everybody’s gone. So the last shots on the tape are of an empty dining room and then it shuts off,” Ross says.
