It wasn’t long after a a baby was found safe in a stolen car in Puyallup that the questions started-how could a mother leave her kid in the car for even a moment? Easy, respond Luke and guest host David Boze.
“I don’t think there’s one parent who can honestly say they’ve never ever left their kid in a car,” says Luke.
In this case, the car was stolen when the mom was dropping her other child off at a Puyallup day car, and the carjacker quickly took off with the baby in the back.
While there’s sure to be plenty of criticism about the mother’s parental fitness, David argues it’s perfectly safe to leave a child in the car momentarily.
“The odds of this happening were infintesimally small, yet we act as though everyone around us is some horrible predator. This is a very rare occurance,” says David. “There’s no reason she should feel bad at all.”
Of course, this from a non-parent who regularly rode in the back of a pickup truck. So consider the source.
