Home seekers concerned about inventory, not the season

Potential homebuyers don’t appear to be concerned about the season.
According to the latest report by the Northwest Multiple Listing Association, King County prices rose 5.2 percent, from $379,202 to $399,000, last month over November 2013. Nearby counties had sharper increases, led by Kitsap at nearly 11.4 percent. In Pierce County, prices jumped 10.7 percent while in Snohomish County the year-over-year gain was nearly 9 percent.
“During the holidays we usually see a drop in homebuyers, but this year they’re remaining engaged later than usual,” said OB Jacobi, president of Windermere Real Estate. “Both showings and offers are still going strong.”
Home prices continued to rise in many Puget Sound neighborhoods pushed along by a consistent lack of inventory. Analysts do not anticipate an uptick in the number of homes for sale until late in the first quarter of 2015.
