The Colman Dock Ferry Terminal in Seattle was closed for approximately 40 minutes on Tuesday morning after Washington State Patrol K9 Troopers were notified of a suspicious package located in the terminal’s pedestrian waiting area.
The package was a wrapped present that had been placed beneath a decorative Christmas tree in the lobby, Washington State Patrol said in a press release.
No other wrapped presents were displayed underneath the tree, and the suspicious package listed no address. The terminal was evacuated and inbound ferry traffic was delayed while the Seattle Police Department’s Bomb Squad investigated.
The ferry terminal was reopened at 10:50 a.m. once the bomb squad determined that the package was not a threat.
