The average age of a member of the National Association of Realtors has risen significantly, largely credited to the loss of jobs in other industries.
In the latest NAR Profile, the typical member reported they were 56 years old, up from 52 in 1999.
Approximately 57 percent of members are women. There is a larger share of females who are sales agents, while there is a larger share of males who are broker-owners in the field.
Nine of 10 NAR members have at least some college education.
