All lanes of Interstate 405 in Bothell reopened Monday morning after a weekend closure for ramp removal, part of the ongoing I‑405 expansion project.
The closure allowed crews to dismantle sections of the northbound ramp over State Route 522 and remove concrete supports for the new infrastructure, according to WSDOT. Officials said full shutdowns are necessary for safety and to protect the bridge deck.
Ramp removal complete; more closures ahead
Another full closure is planned starting Friday night, March 13, when northbound I‑405 at SR 522 and southbound I‑405 from SR 527 to SR 522 will close. Southbound lanes may reopen by Sunday morning, March 15, or as late as 4 a.m. Monday, March 16, depending on progress.
Overnight ramp closures will continue, with signed detours for drivers. The work is part of broader efforts to improve traffic flow and safety along the heavily traveled corridor.
