‘Tragic collision’: Log truck and vehicle crash on SR 530 near Arlington, killing woman

SR 530 has reopened after the road was blocked for hours due to a fatal collision in Arlington.
A log truck and a vehicle collided around 8 a.m. on Monday, near milepost 28.
The log truck was eastbound on SR 530, and the other vehicle was westbound. The log truck crossed the center line and struck the other vehicle, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The driver of the other vehicle, a 28-year-old woman from Arlington, died at the hospital.
Troopers are investigating what led up to the crash, WSP Trooper Kelsey Harding reported.

Harding confirmed that the incident had turned fatal.
“Sadly, this is now a fatal collision,” Harding stated. “Please be patient as troopers continue to investigate this tragic collision.”

The Washington State Department of Transportation advised drivers to expect delays and consider alternate routes.
