Major car crash causes lane closures on eastbound I-90 near North Bend

A significant crash shut down all eastbound lanes of I-90 near North Bend Friday morning.
All lanes on I-90 have been reopened as of 12:10 a.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the collision happened around milepost 31, temporarily shutting down all eastbound traffic.
The silver car was traveling westbound and forced off the road into oncoming traffic, striking a black truck head-on.

Tow trucks were on the scene to remove both vehicles from the roadway. No estimated time was initially provided for when the roads will be cleared.
Serious injuries were suffered in the accident, according to Eastside Fire & Rescue. Three patients have been transported to local hospitals, with one in life-threatening condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
