An overnight crash on Aurora Avenue N. sent three people to the hospital, the Seattle Police Department confirmed.

The two-car crash happened at the intersection of Aurora Avenue N. and N. 105th Street just before 11 p.m. Monday. Both the Seattle Police Department and the Seattle Fire Department were called to respond. When they arrived, they found a blue Subaru wedged between a building and a gray Hyundai.

The Hyundai was driven by a 30-year-old woman, while the Subaru was driven by a 66-year-old male with a 58-year-old female passenger inside the vehicle.

“Aid was provided at the scene and all three were transported to Harborview Medical Center,” the Seattle Police Department stated. “Medical staff are evaluating the 66-year-old man for a serious head injury. The 58-year-old woman and the 30-year-old woman sustained minor injuries.”

According to nearby witnesses, the Subaru was traveling southbound on Aurora Avenue N. when the Hyundai struck it from behind. The Hyundai was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed.

“The impact pushed the Subaru approximately 80 to 100 feet before it came to rest against the building,” the Seattle Police Department wrote.

Police are evaluating the Hyundai driver for possible impairment.
