Driver arrested for DUI after six-car pileup in Bellevue injures 3

A driver was arrested after a six-car pileup occurred on I-405 in Bellevue Tuesday night, injuring three people.
The crash first happened at approximately 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, partially blocking the I-405 southbound off-ramp to Coal Creek Parkway (milepost 10). Five cars were stopped in the middle of traffic when a sixth car slammed into the back of them, causing a chain of collisions.

Three people, two drivers and an additional passenger, were injured in the crash and subsequently taken to Overlake Medical Center. No one else suffered injuries.
The driver who caused the crash, a 29-year-old man, was booked into jail for DUI and vehicular assault.
WSDOT took approximately three-and-a-half hours to clear and reopen the SB I-405 off-ramp to Coal Creek Parkway.
