A driver was arrested for DUI after crashing into a telephone pole in Seattle early Monday morning, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) confirmed.

The car crashed into a pole on N 105th Street in north Seattle just before 4 a.m. before striking a building. The collision knocked down power lines.

The driver, a 20-year-old man, injured his leg in the crash, but was able to exit the vehicle on his own, according to the Seattle Fire Department (SFD). He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

He has since been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI).

SPD temporarily shut down Greenwood Avenue N in both directions this morning.
