Southbound SR 99 near Lynnwood reopens after fatal hit-and-run crash

A fatal hit-and-run car crash fully blocked southbound SR 99 early Thursday morning for several hours. By 9:45 a.m., the southbound part of the highway reopened, the Washington State Patrol (WSP) confirmed.
The crash involved a semi-truck and a motorcyclist near Lincoln Way at approximately 4:30 a.m. WSP is now investigating the crash as a hit-and-run.

“Unfortunately, the semi truck did not stay on scene,” Harding told KIRO Newsradio. “We have witness reports saying that it was a semi with a blue cab and white trailer. We’re so early in this investigation that they don’t know 100% what the dynamics are. So we’re collecting the on-scene evidence.”
Investigators are working to identify and locate the driver involved.
