Washington State Ferries (WSF) has two large vessels out of service at the moment.

On Wednesday, the Wenatchee — the state’s first hybrid‑electric ferry — hit a log and bent a propeller while traveling through fog. Crews plan to make repairs over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the Walla Walla is also out of service. It has propeller damage, and both propellers are being replaced in dry dock.

WSF said the damage to the Wenatchee leaves just 15 vessels available when it needs 17 for full winter service.

“We have and will continue to move our available boats around to best serve our customers,” WSF stated in a post on X Friday.
