All lanes have reopened on northbound I-5 after the highway was fully blocked for around four hours just north of Samish Way near Bellingham.

The highway was fully blocked at milepost 247 due to a collision, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reported Tuesday around 11:30 a.m.

Two cars and a bicyclist were involved in the crash, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP). At least one person was injured.

“Units on scene are working to get a detour set up,” WSP Trooper Kelsey Harding stated on X.

Emergency responders were at the scene.

“People should plan travel accordingly and seek an alternate route,” WSDOT stated in a news release.
