I-90 fully reopens after multiple crashes, spinouts

I-90 has fully reopened after multiple crashes and spinouts, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reported Wednesday via X.
The highway was closed for more than three hours while crews worked to clear the vehicles.
Westbound I-90 was closed at milepost 70 in Easton, milepost 85 in Cle Elum, and milepost 107 in Ellensburg. Eastbound I-90 was closed at milepost 34 in North Bend.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson said the vehicles were blocking the plows.
“There are some trucks or some cars, so that needs to get cleared so the plows can continue to make the pass passable,” he said.

Johnson urged drivers to slow down and not speed.
“That’s what gets people in trouble, is when they’re just going too fast for the conditions,” he said.
Johnson noted there have also been crashes in the lowlands due to wet roads.
“We just want to really ask people to just slow it down,” he reiterated. “Keep your lights on, make sure your vehicles are maintained, and expect that it’s going to take longer to get from point A to point B.”
