Lower Spokane Street Bridge closed for hydraulic fluid leak

Drivers out of West Seattle are going to find the next week to be challenging since the lower level Spokane Street Swing Bridge closed at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Bridge inspectors with the Seattle Department of Transportation found a hydraulic fluid leak during a routine inspection this week prompting the closure. SDOT says this closure is “to protect the safety of travelers and mitigate costly cumulative damages.”
The bridge will be closed for up to a week, if not longer.
