Study says new Lakewood Chick-fil-A won’t cause traffic jams

A developer for Chick-fil-A says crowds of customers at a future restaurant in the South Sound won’t cause traffic problems.
Traffic engineers have looked closely at the Lakewood location for the new restaurant.

A study shows the Chick-fil-A would bring an extra 700 cars a week to the stretch of 100th Street Southwest near Bridgeport Way, KIRO 7 reports.
The Schooner Pub at 5429 100th Street Southwest would be torn down to become the chain’s latest location.
According to The News Tribune, cars would get to the restaurant from the shopping complex, so the drive-through line wouldn’t back up onto the street.
An opening date for the store has not been set.
The Lakewood store would be the fourth Chick-fil-A in the Puget Sound area.
The first restaurant caused major traffic congestion when it opened in Bellevue last April.
Officers had to direct traffic in and out of the parking lot for months.
