Two drivers are seriously injured after a transporter van collided with a semi-truck on southbound I-5 in Thurston County on Wednesday morning.

SB I-5 to SR 121 at Exit 99 was blocked following the collision, but has since reopened at approximately 11:30 a.m., Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper Kameron Watts announced.

Two of the drivers were seriously injured, with one of them being life-flighted to Seattle. Witnesses said that the van drifted off the roadway and into the back of the parked semi-truck on the right shoulder.

Roughly one hour after the collision, Trooper Watts noted that a tech was responding to the collision scene. The time it took to reopen the roadway was roughly two and a half hours.
