Drivers in the north end will be getting a much smoother ride after WSDOT maintenance crews repair pavement on US 2 in Snohomish. The road work is planned for this week, however, so expect delays.

If US 2 is your route of choice between Everett and Eastern Washington, be sure to check the work schedule so you don’t get caught in the back up.

US 2 work schedule:

• Monday, June 12, to the morning of Wednesday, June 14: A single lane will be closed in either direction of US 2 between 87th Avenue Southeast and State Route 9 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. A flagger will alternate traffic through the open lane.

• Wednesday, June 14, to the morning of Friday, June 16: A single lane will be closed in either direction of US 2 between State Route 9 and the Pilchuck River Bridge will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. A flagger will alternate traffic through the open lane.

• Saturday, June 17, to the morning of Sunday, June 18: A single lane will be closed in either direction of US 2 between State Route 9 and the Pilchuck River Bridge will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. A flagger will alternate traffic through the open lane.

• Sunday, June 18, to the morning of Monday, June 19: A single lane will be closed in either direction of US 2 between State Route 9 and the Pilchuck River Bridge will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. A flagger will alternate traffic through the open lane.

Drivers should pay special attention to the lane shifts and flaggers that will be on the scene during the paving project.
