Water main break closes lanes on E. Marginal Way in Seattle, backs up SR 99 commute

A water main has burst on E. Marginal Way in Seattle, causing significant traffic congestion along the northbound lanes of SR 99 during prime commuting hours.
The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) first posted about the break just after 7 a.m., confirming that three northbound lanes of E. Marginal Way South at the intersection of Diagonal Avenue South were blocked.

The Seattle Police Department (SPD) closed off E. Marginal Way S. between Hudson Street and Diagonal Avenue S. at approximately 9 a.m. S. Alaska Street is also closed, as of this reporting.
