Help Local Rescue Dogs Thrive: Saving Great Animals Teams up with Carter Subaru For Pet Supplies

Drop off donations at Carter Subaru Ballard or Shoreline through October 31 during Subaru Loves Pets Month.

October is Subaru Loves Pets Month, and Carter Subaru is celebrating with a month-long Pet Supplies Drive for its community partner, Saving Great Animals. There’s still time to help. Bring your donations to either Carter Subaru location by October 31 and help give local rescue dogs the care and comfort they need while they wait for their forever homes.

A Second Chance for Dogs in Need
Since 2007, Saving Great Animals has given abandoned, neglected and abused dogs a second chance at life. It works differently from a traditional shelter. Dogs live with a network of foster families and volunteers, and professional staff coordinate each dog’s care and work to find the right forever home.

That approach works. Saving Great Animals has placed more than 10,000 dogs in loving homes. Right now, more than 100 dogs are in its care, and each one needs food, a warm bed and individual attention on the way to adoption.

What’s Needed Most
Foster families do much of the work, but they rely on donated supplies to care for every dog. Items in high demand include:
• Puppy formula for the youngest rescues
• Exercise pens to keep dogs safe and contained in foster homes
• Dog food for every age and size
• Bedding for a comfortable place to rest
• Toys for enrichment, play and comfort
• Other everyday essentials that help fosters give each dog personal care

If you’d like to shop online, the drive’s Amazon wishlist can be found here.

Where to Drop Off Donations
Bring your donations to Carter Subaru Ballard or Shoreline locations through Friday, October 31. Look for the donation bins and help fill them up.

Prefer to Give Money?
If you’d rather donate money than supplies, you can give directly to Saving Great Animals at SavingGreatAnimals.org. Cash gifts pay for medical care, food, foster support and other resources for dogs on their way to a forever home.

Every Donation Makes a Difference
A bag of food, a new chew toy or a cozy blanket can make a real difference for a dog waiting for its perfect match. By pitching in, the community helps Saving Great Animals keep doing what it does best: matching dogs with dog lovers and giving dogs in need hope and a chance to heal.

Stop by Carter Subaru Ballard or Shoreline before October 31 and help rescue dogs thrive.
