3 teens arrested in connection with Tacoma crime spree, high-speed chase

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) said it’s “incredibly fortunate” no one was hurt after an armed crime spree Friday night.
Three teenagers are suspected in multiple car prowls and an armed carjacking that stretched across Tacoma.
Deputies said the teens, two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old, led them on a high-speed pursuit Saturday morning, weaving through traffic and running red lights.

It started when a deputy tried to pull the BMW over Saturday morning. The driver fled, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour before crashing into a ditch.
“Three juveniles jumped out of it and ran from the police at that point,” PCSO Deputy Carly Cappetto told KIRO Newsradio.
Cappetto said the three teens were quickly arrested. Two handguns believed to be tied to the crime spree were found inside the BMW, which was determined to be stolen.
“When you have two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old and handguns involved and a whole night of crime, we are incredibly fortunate that nobody was shot or hurt,” Cappetto said.
The sheriff’s office said a fourth suspect may still be at large.
