Patrol officers with the Kent Police Department were dispatched to the location of a dead body hidden in a brush at 11:52 a.m. Sunday, prompting a homicide investigation.

The Kent Police Department described the body as “obviously deceased when it was found by patrol officers.

“They observed injuries that appeared to be consistent with a homicide,” the Kent Police Department stated. “The King County Medical Examiner’s Office was requested. They arrived at the scene and took custody of the deceased man. They later confirmed that the victim’s death was a homicide.”

The Kent Police Detective Unit identified the body as a 33-year-old Kent resident.

“At this time, there is no indication that there is an ongoing threat to the community,” the Kent Police Department said.

Kent Police is asking the community for assistance on what led to this homicide. If anyone has any information, reach out to the Kent Police Department at KPDTipLine@kentwa.gov or by calling (253) 856-5808.
