Arlington police investigate truck stop knife attack

Arlington police are investigating a knife attack at a truck stop that happened Friday morning.
Police said a 23-year-old man confronted a 42-year-old man with a knife in the parking lot of the Pilot Travel Center off Highway 530.
The victim suffered minor injuries.

Assault appears to have been unprovoked
According to a news release, he did not know the attacker, and the assault appears to have been unprovoked.
“At the scene, officers observed the suspect’s vehicle drive to the nearby Arlington Motor Inn,” the release stated. “When officers attempted to detain him, he fled into a motel room. With assistance from bystanders in locating the correct room, officers took the suspect into custody without further incident.”
The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for assault in the second degree, driving while license suspended in the third degree, and on outstanding felony warrants, according to law enforcement.
