Man found stabbed to death in Des Moines house fire

A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found stabbed to death on Sunday inside a Des Moines home that was on fire.
911 received several calls about a house fire near S. 216th Street, a few blocks away from the Des Moines Library, according to KIRO 7.
While fire crews were doing an initial search of the residence, they found a 45-year-old man dead inside.

On Wednesday, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the man inside the home had died from several stab wounds, labeling his manner of death as a homicide.
Local law enforcement also reported that the investigation is being treated as a homicide.
It remains unclear how the fire started within the residence. Investigators do not believe there is an active threat to the public.
