Body recovered from Duwamish River near yacht club, investigation underway

A body was recovered from the Duwamish River near the Duwamish Yacht Club on Sunday, the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) confirmed.
KCSO deputies received a report from a paddleboarder on the Duwamish River at approximately 5:25 p.m., according to KIRO 7.

The paddleboarder who called KCSO claimed there was a dead body in the Duwamish River. The KCSO Marine Unit responded to the call and confirmed the death of the person in the river once the body was recovered.
The KCSO Marine Unit, KCSO Major Crimes Unit, KCSO Missing Persons Coordinator, and the King County Medical Examiner’s Office will work together to identify the person and determine the cause and manner of death.
