Suspect killed in officer-involved shooting in Pacific following domestic violence dispute

Mar 3, 2026, 8:58 AM | Updated: 4:45 pm

The Pacific Police Department is warning residents to avoid 5th Avenue N.E. and Milwaukee Boulevard N. due to an officer-involved shooting, according to KIRO Newsradio.

The incident occurred at approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday after a domestic violence dispute. The suspect is dead, the police department confirmed, while no police officers were injured.

Two victims, an 18-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy, were shot by the suspect. The woman has been discharged from the hospital, while the boy is still at the hospital and is being treated for injuries. The suspect was still firing shots when officers arrived.

“Officers from Pacific responded to the scene first and contacted an armed man,” the Algona Police Department stated. “After attempts to de-escalate the situation, a Pacific officer discharged his weapon, striking the armed man. Pacific officers performed life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.”

The Pacific Police Department confirmed the incident was not a “mass casualty event.”

By 9:57 a.m., Alpac Elementary, a school near the location of the shooting, lifted its lockdown.
