2 armed robbery suspects caught after chase ends in crash in Tukwila

A King County deputy used Flock cameras to catch two robbery suspects early Wednesday morning in Tukwila.

“Two armed robberies that happened the night before, one on Pacific Highway South, the other in Normandy Park. The suspects were described as wearing ski masks and possibly armed with a semi-automatic handgun,” King County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Brandyn Hull said.

The deputy, monitoring the flock camera system, noticed a car speeding northbound on Pacific Highway South, with what appeared to be a stolen license plate. A short pursuit was initiated, with the car eventually getting onto I-5.

“He was driving on the shoulder, and when he took the exit to SR 599, he rear-ended another car. That’s when law enforcement was able to detain the suspects and arrest them,” Hull said.

The car was determined to have been stolen out of Seattle. The incident snarled traffic for at least an hour during the morning rush as crews cleared the scene and towed away the stolen vehicle.
