Brush fire near Judkins Park leads to discovery of human remains, ‘suspicious death’ probe

A driver on the interstate spotted a fire in a greenbelt area near Judkins Park, leading to the discovery of human remains on Wednesday night.
At approximately 6:26 p.m., the driver saw the fire and called 911, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) announced.
The Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene near the Mountain to Sound trail and began working to extinguish the fire.
As firefighters were clearing the area, they located possible human remains.
Detectives with the Homicide Unit will be conducting a follow-up investigation into what was labeled a “suspicious death.”
