Newly released video from Centralia showed the moment a car carrying a toddler flipped upside down and slid to a stop, ending a police chase on I-5.

The pursuit began in Castle Rock, ending nearly 30 miles away, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP). Deputies said the driver was speeding more than 100 miles per hour at the time of the crash.

Toddler survives dramatic I-5 crash

Highway traffic camera footage posted on the Centralia Police Department’s Facebook page shows the I-5 dramatic crash.

Investigators said the Nissan Altima hit a barrier, launched into the air, and landed on its roof. The vehicle then slid roughly 4,000 feet before slamming into two other cars.

“An unbelievable tragedy could’ve occurred where a totally innocent child could’ve been killed in that car,” Commander Dave Clary said.

Centralia police told KIRO 7 that when officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old mother and her child inside the vehicle. Authorities said the toddler was not in a car seat but survived the crash without injuries.

Three adults in the car were injured and arrested at the scene. All were later booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on multiple charges.

“Don’t be like this driver. Slow down. It’s not worth the risk,” Centralia police wrote on social media.
