At the scene, officers and the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) found a male, roughly 20-30 years old, injured in the roadway.

“The pedestrian suffered possibly life-threatening injuries,” according to the police report.

SFD administered medical aid to the victim and transported him to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Officers determined that the 56-year-old driver was traveling south on 15th Avenue W. in a 2023 Chevrolet Bolt and unintentionally hit the pedestrian in the middle of the street.

The driver remained at the scene and called 911. SPD noted he fully cooperated with authorities.

A Drug Recognition Expert also responded to the scene to evaluate the driver and found no signs of impairment. The driver was eventually released from the scene.
