2 dead after drive-by shooting near I-5 overpass in Kent; road closed in both directions

A drive-by shooting near the I-5 overpass on S 272nd Street in Kent killed two people Monday morning, the Kent Police Department (KPD) confirmed.
Both directions of S 272nd Street were closed as police investigate.
In an update at 12:16 p.m., the Washington State Department of Transportation announced that the ramp from northbound I-5 to South 272nd Street has partially reopened, while the southbound ramp remains closed
Both ramps from northbound and southbound I-5 to S 272nd Street were previously closed while emergency crews responded to the incident.

KPD is currently investigating the fatal shooting.
The department advised people to avoid the area, noting the roadway will be closed for an extended period of time.
