Longview murder suspect in custody after nearly week-long manhunt

A murder suspect was arrested after a nearly week-long manhunt, the Longview Police Department (LPD) reported Tuesday.
Alexander Lee Rogers, 51, from Longview, was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department after his vehicle was found in California.
“We thank the public for the hundreds of tips received during this investigation, which played a key role in this outcome,” LPD wrote.

Rogers was wanted for allegedly stabbing and killing Dawn Peters, 64, of Longview. Also for the alleged attempted murder of Andrew Peters, 73, of Longview. Peters is reportedly in a stable condition and is recovering in the hospital.
Rogers was believed to be located in the Clark or Cowlitz county area and was considered armed and dangerous.
LPD noted detectives worked through the night to locate Rogers and investigate the incident.
