A chaotic weekend street-racing takeover in Pierce County ended with one home being shot by multiple bullets on Saturday.
The takeover happened at 108th Street South and Park Avenue South, where tire marks still cover the roadway. A neighbor told KIRO 7 that several bullets tore through the fence surrounding her yard.
One bullet struck her husband’s truck, another bounced off the garage, and a third hit close to the front door. There were no injuries, but neighbors say this is roughly the fifth takeover they have seen in recent years. They say the problem goes beyond the takeovers and street racing themselves.

One man added that regular gunfire in the area has made him worried about simply stepping outside.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department received several 911 reports about the street racers. A department report noted the call was delayed until enough deputies were available to respond safely, with some nearby agencies declining to assist.
By the time deputies reached the intersection, the group had already disappeared. No arrests have been made.
