A deputy employed by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) has been charged with felony harassment with threats to kill after an internal investigation by PCSO.

On Dec. 2, 2025, PCSO received a report from a family member of a verbal domestic altercation that involved the deputy, the sheriff’s office announced.

Following the complaint, investigators initiated a comprehensive criminal investigation, including several interviews of the parties involved, and collected additional evidence over the course of the following month.

Months-long Pierce County investigation leads to felony charge, pending termination

On Jan. 26, 2026, the command staff was briefed on the preliminary criminal findings within the investigation. After receiving that briefing, the deputy was immediately placed on modified administrative duties and removed from all patrol-related responsibilities pending the outcome of the investigation.

After the criminal investigation was completed, the case was forwarded on May 8 to the prosecuting authority for an independent review and charging considerations. PCSO notified the deputy that he had been formally charged with felony harassment with threats to kill and will be summoned to court by the prosecutor’s office.

“[PCSO] recognizes that our deputies have families and personal lives outside of their professional responsibilities and may face many of the same personal and relationship challenges experienced throughout our communities,” PCSO stated. “However, members of this Office are held to a significantly higher standard and are expected to demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and integrity both on and off duty. The conduct in this case is unacceptable and will not be tolerated by our agency.”

The sheriff’s office noted that command staff is currently proceeding with a formal process to terminate the deputy’s employment with PCSO.

The deputy was hired in the summer of 2022 and has worked patrol in a variety of locations throughout Pierce County.
