The Renton Police Department is investigating a deadly stabbing that also left one officer seriously injured late Monday night.
Multiple 911 calls reported hearing breaking glass and suspicious noises on Burnett Avenue S. just before 12 a.m. Tuesday. When police arrived, a man ran away and stabbed an officer in the face with a knife.
“The officer was transported to a hospital with serious injuries,” the Renton Police Department stated.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the attack. After he was taken into custody, officers returned to the original scene to continue their investigation, following a trail of blood that led to an adult woman who had been fatally stabbed.
“Detectives are continuing to investigate and are working to determine the suspect’s relationship to the victim,” Renton police added.
