3 arrested after violent Spokane-to-Seattle kidnapping, robbery

Three arrests were made Thursday after an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping took a victim from Spokane to Seattle while being held at gunpoint.
At approximately 1:27 a.m., Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers were dispatched to a reported armed robbery near 6th Avenue S. and S. Main Street in the Chinatown-International District, SPD announced.
A 39-year-old victim was located and told officers that two men and a woman had offered him a ride from Spokane to the Seattle area, but assaulted and robbed him.
The victim claimed he gave the suspects $65 for gas and expected to be driven to Redmond. The suspects took the victim straight to Seattle instead.

While in the car, the driver turned and struck the victim in the face with a handgun, while the other two suspects punched him and held him.
The female suspect demanded all of the victim’s money, threatening to shoot him. Another suspect took $180 in cash from his pocket, along with medication and clothing.
The victim eventually escaped the vehicle near 7th Avenue S. and S. Main Street. All suspects fled southbound in a black Dodge.
SPD officers searched the area and located a vehicle that matched the description of the black Dodge.
Officers stopped the vehicle and detained three suspects: a 45-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman, and a 32-year-old man.
Each suspect was positively identified, arrested, and later booked into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery and kidnapping.
An investigation by detectives with the robbery unit is underway.
