A 28-year-old man was stabbed Tuesday night in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood, leaving him with the knife stuck in his hand.

At approximately 11:20 p.m., Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers responded to reports of a stabbing near N.E. 65th Street and 9th Avenue N.E., SPD announced.

On the scene, officers found the victim with the knife still in his hand.

“The knife was stuck in his right hand,” according to the police report.

SPD and the Seattle Fire Department administered medical aid to the victim for his injuries. Medics later transported him to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

Argument inside Roosevelt residence spills onto street, turns violent

Officers determined that three people were arguing inside a residence in the 800 block of N.E. 65th Street. The altercation turned physical and spilled out onto the street.

During the confrontation, the suspect stabbed the victim in the hand and left the weapon behind.

Other parties inside the residence intervened and broke up the fight. The suspect eventually left the area on foot before SPD could arrive. Officers searched the area, but couldn’t find the suspect.

Anyone with information is urged to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000. Anonymous tips are accepted.

Homicide and Assault Unit detectives have been assigned to the case.
