‘Violent’ Seattle drug dealer arrested after tossing fentanyl, cash during police chase

A known Seattle drug dealer was arrested in the Chinatown-International District on Tuesday after he tossed fentanyl and cash during a police chase.
Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers conducted a narcotics surveillance operation at 12th Avenue S. and S. Jackson Street, spotting a suspect with multiple felony warrants for his arrest.

The suspect had a second-degree assault warrant out of the Department of Corrections (DOC), a $30,075 warrant for dangerous drugs, and a $100 warrant for obstructing a law enforcement officer.
Officers worked with the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) to locate the suspect. RTCC staff located the suspect and sent a photo of him to SPD officers as they moved in to arrest him.
When officers approached the suspect, he ran away and tossed his jacket and cash as he attempted to flee. The suspect was arrested quickly afterwards.
Officers then retraced the suspect’s steps and recovered the jacket and cash that were thrown into the street. SPD noted the jacket contained fentanyl.
Cops later recovered more fentanyl in the suspect’s pockets during his search. Officers later booked the suspect into the King County Jail.
The suspect is a previously convicted “violent” felon who is on DOC supervision. The suspect is also prohibited from engaging in criminal activity due to the conditions of his release.
