Seattle police are investigating a triple shooting that happened early Monday morning at a party in a short-term rental home in lower Capitol Hill.

911 dispatchers began receiving calls about gunshots around 12:43 a.m. in the 2300 block of 10th Ave. East and East Lynn Street. When officers arrived, they found a party underway and evidence of a shooting, but no victims.

“A short time later, three gunshot victims, two men and a woman, arrived at local hospitals,” Seattle Police Department (SPD) Detective Shane Weatherford said. “All three had non-life-threatening injuries and had been taken there by other people rather than by ambulance.”

Weatherford said it appears the short-term rental, described as an Airbnb, had been rented specifically to host the party.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting — including what led to the gunfire, and whether anyone involved in the party is suspected of pulling the trigger — remain under investigation.

Detectives with the department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit processed the scene and interviewed witnesses and are now leading the ongoing investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Seattle Police Department Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
