Purdy stabbing suspect claimed to be ‘Egyptian God,’ dug grave for victim’s mother

Feb 25, 2026, 12:25 PM | Updated: 12:26 pm

Investigators continue to uncover the events leading up to the fatal stabbings of four victims in Purdy on Tuesday morning, which led to the 32-year-old suspect being shot and killed by a deputy.

Court documents revealed that the suspect was threatening family members, claiming he was an “Egyptian God,” and had dug a grave for the mother of a victim prior to the stabbings.

Three victims were killed at the scene in the 14017 block of 87th Avenue Court N.W., while the fourth was transported to a nearby hospital with significant injuries. That victim was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts from responding paramedics, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).

Before the fatal stabbings, the mother of one of the victims filed a series of protection orders against the family member in April, detailing his troubling behavior.

Protection order described threats, strange behavior from family member

The mother claimed that a family member had been practicing witchcraft and thought he was an “Egyptian God,” according to court documents.

The family member was threatening the woman and her cat, along with demanding that she refer to the suspect as a “God.”

“I am an elderly disabled woman, and he is taking advantage of me and my health,” she wrote in a protection order filed on April 4, 2025.

On April 2, the woman had left her home to visit another family member. When she returned home, she claimed her house smelled strange, the rugs were moved to the garage, and framed pictures were either destroyed or missing.

“The smoke detector was going off, and [the family member] was acting delusional. Evidence of occult rituals were present,” the order stated.

The family member had also told the woman, “Your grave has been dug up.”

On Tuesday, at approximately 8:47 a.m., PCSO was alerted to an order violation in progress, involving an adult male entering a home in violation of a no-contact order.

“The initial call came in at 8:41 this morning, stating that there was a violation of an order. At 9:30 a.m., additional information came in about a stabbing taking place, and at 9:33 a.m., is when ‘shots fired’ was called out by the deputy,” Tacoma Police Department spokesperson Shelbie Boyd told KIRO Newsradio.

Deputies confirmed that the no-contact order was not valid, as it hadn’t yet been served. Deputies were en route to serve the order when multiple witnesses reported a man was stabbing people outside the home at about 9:30 a.m. According to KIRO Newsradio, multiple people witnessed the attack when the suspect stabbed a victim in the middle of the street.

Once a single deputy arrived, shots were fired at 9:33 a.m., according to PCSO. The suspect was shot by deputies, and no law enforcement personnel were injured.

The Pierce County Force Investigation Team was called to the scene. The team will lead the investigations into the stabbings and the officer-involved-shooting.

“Detectives are going to go door-to-door to piece together witness information to get this puzzle as complete as possible,” Boyd told KIRO 7.
